What is Applied Project Management?

Applied Project Management involves the use of different methodologies and tools to deliver projects and drive organizational success. This is accomplished by aligning project activities with business objectives and effectively managing resources.

Work typically begins with the systematic planning, organizing and assigning of project tasks to meet specific goals and objectives within a defined time frame and budget. This includes creating an effective set of management processes, defining the scope, developing a project plan, setting goals, managing risks and monitoring progress or complications.

Keeping active projects on schedule through effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders (team members, customers and others) is also crucial to maintaining timelines. Understanding how to utilize project management software can be vital for keeping everyone informed as well as tracking progress in this fast-paced career field.
